II year BBM, Kristu Jayanti College picked up an off-white top, black jacket and black tights.

Punchline: “The off-white top blends well with the black trendy jacket. It’s not only stylish but also keeps you warm. I really like the overall look of the clothing.”

Price:  Top (Rs 1,499) and jacket (Rs 2,499)

It's that time of year when you bring out all those warm clothes. Winter has set in and it’s getting colder. But why compromise on style? Metrolife interacted with the design team of ‘Bossini’ to get an insight into the latest collection of winter wear.

The ‘Autumn-Winter’ collection draws inspiration from a combination of big city lights, irregular patterns, layering, mix and match with a military touch to it. The design team with ‘Bossini’ points out that the palettes used throughout are from khaki, sage green, opal grey, walnut, pale olive accent with dusty orange and grey royal. “The silhouettes for the season are accentuated with puffer jackets, hooded shirts, jacquard sweater cardigans, checks and casual tees,” they say.

The collection is segregated into men and women. And if you take a closer look, you’ll find that care has been taken to cut, design and present each of the categories in a distinct style. With edgy influences, ‘Bossini Women’ is a mix of classic feminine patterns with a tough and edgy finish. “The winter palette reflects florals in colours of dusty pinks to purples blended with frosty whites and greys. This looks fashionable when combined with denim and coated and padded nylons,” say the design team.

They observe that these jackets are best worn with shirt dresses, tunics, casual printed tees and soft blouses while jacquard sweaters are best worn with fresh jeans and quilted puffer jackets or velour hoodies. The collection is priced at Rs 349 for basic casuals and go up to Rs 3,999 for heavy jackets and winter wear.

The ‘Bossini Men’ is also styled to suit the changing fashion sensibilities of the Indian male. The ‘Retro Air Force’ collection comprises aviator jackets, reversible puffer jackets, armorial motif tees and aviator photoprint tees. There are also the fashion biker jackets, mini plaid nylon jackets, photo print tees with rhinestone details, watercolour effect printed tees and hooded plaid shirts. “The military stripe shirts, complete with badges and insignia, are best paired with vintage jeans or subtly checked pants,” say the design team. The collection is priced between Rs 499 and
Rs 3,999.

The design team observes that the designers are always working, reworking and perfecting their designs. And the collection for winter is planned well in advance. “The designers love to plan and execute designs with a lot of attention to detail and we also make sure that the styles hit the markets in time for the season,” say the design team who say they work in advance only to stay ahead in the competition. In winter wear, you can’t really accessorise too much but the design team says the right pair of footwear and light make-up can enhance the overall appeal of the garment. “Closed toe sandals for women and ankle-length sneakers or shoes for men would not only keep one warm but are also stylish,” they sum up.
