India has to think how it would meet the energy requirement then, said Mano Manoharan, a scientist working on nano technology and head of the Global Research at the GE John F Welch Technology Centre, here on Monday.

He was speaking after giving away the Rotary Young Inventors’ Award (Creative Ideas) to Sishugraha School. The scientist recalled his childhood days when he lived in Salem, which always faced water and electricity crisis.

This scene, he felt, has to change and India has to think about generating power
reducing its dependence on fossil fuel.

The two major options available now is nuclear technology and solar energy for electricity generation.
