Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday directed the officials to complete the ongoing multi-village schemes in the drought-affected areas on priority.
The government will provide funds required for implementing 6,109 ongoing multi-village schemes. People in the drought-affected places have been demanding the implementation of the schemes in order to mitigate water shortage. The chief minister conducted a review of rural drinking water supply schemes at his home office Krishna.
Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister, H K Patil, informed the chief minister that the department had completed 293 schemes, covering 2,787 habitations facing drinking water scarcity.
