For all health freak Delhiites, who have been longing for a place that serves healthy food in terms of calories and nutrients, Hwealth cafe is the solution. Below each dish and drink on the menu, there’s a chart that flashes its calories, fat, carbs, fibres and protein count. So based on nutrient requirement, one can pick and choose the dishes and fresh, organic beverages.

Hwealth cafe opened its first outlet in Bengaluru, followed by the one in Delhi at Defence Colony. Nicholas Hoffland, owner, said, “Today’s youth who is cash rich and time poor, need to stay fit to be able to handle the complexities of urban life. And it is exciting to offer nutrient-rich food to the generation who craves to stay healthy.”

With bright lemon-coloured furniture, the cafe has a small space with sitting capacity of not more than 10 people — reason being their focus on home delivery. They deliver food in 45 minutes within a range of six kilometres for a minimum order of Rs 99.

The menu is a wide spread of all day energy breakfasts, nourishing soups, ‘perky skinny’ starters, ‘fill-em-up’ calorie-counter meal platters and ‘skinny-licious’ desserts and beverages like hi-protein power smoothies, fruit and veg juice detox cleansers and nutrition boosters, fresh juices, tea and coffee. However, there are certain instructions on their drinks which apply for home delivery like their detox and nutrition juices are to be consumed within 20 minutes of delivery.

To start with, Metrolife ordered Spicy Grilled Chicken N Veggie Wrap (calories 390, fat 11.3, carbs 70.3, protein 32.3, fiber 11.3) along with fruit juice detox blend (calories 210, fat 1.1, carbs 42, protein 2.8, fiber 14.7). The wholewheat warp was stuffed with tangy pan-grilled chicken with lettuce, onions, purple cabbage, spinach and carrot with hummus and yoghurt spread. Served with a side of house salad made of lettuce, beetroot and zucchini squash and mint yoghurt, the wrap was a surprise with each bite having a distinct flavour. One can hardly have the big, filling warp at one go.

Next was Zatar Spiced-Tossed Cottage Cheese N Veggie Sandwich. The wholewheat multigrain bread with tomato concasse spread was stuffed with low-fat cottage cheese cubes with lettuce, onion, spinach and tomato.

From the meal platter, we chose Penne Pasta with Pesto Sauce along with grape and pineapple health booster blend. The wholewheat penne pasta was made with lots of vegetables and a touch of tomato concasse. We were recommended to try their carrot cake for dessert. Garnished with mint-flavoured yoghurt and fresh fruits, the moist home-made, wholewheat and no sugar cake was a perfect end to our culinary treat.
