V Sridhar is VTU in-charge vice chancellor

Principal of PES College of Engineering, Mandya, Dr V Sridhar (in pic), has been appointed the in-charge vice chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technology University (VTU).

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the executive council of the university on Thursday. Governor and Chancellor of the universities, Vajubhai Vala chaired the meeting, said a Raj Bhavan release.

The appointment comes seven days after H G Shekarappa, acting vice chancellor of VTU, resigned from his post. These post of vice chancellor had been lying vacant after the ouster of H Maheshappa following charges of irregularities.
