BJP president Amit Shah said his party's biggest challenges were maintaining success at elections and delivering on the ground on promises made by the Modi government.
Interacting with editors on the eve of completion of two years of the Modi government, Shah said the party and the government were geared up for the twin tasks and were at work. “Even before we focused on Assam where we got success, we have been working in UP. Even as the party focuses on election work, the government is concentrating on the tasks before it.”
Shah declined to say whether BSP leader Mayawati would provide a tough challenge to the BJP’s plans in UP if she tied up with the Congress. “The SP is BJP's main rival in UP. No point talking of BSP-Cong alliance when it isn’t there yet.”
