Rain causes waterlogging, uproots trees

Heavy rains lashed the city on Wednesday evening. Water gushed into many houses in the low-lying areas. Trees were uprooted at Adugodi, Varthur, Whitefield, Ullala Ashrama, Kengeri 80 ft Road, Vijayanagar 26th Main Road, Koramangala, JP Nagar, HSR Layout, CoD office, Ejipura and Bilal mosque.

Waterlogging was reported at the Kadu Beesanahalli underpass, while many houses were flooded at Bommanahalli, Araluru and HSR Layout.

The Met department said the core city received 13.5 mm rain, while the Old Airport area received 80 mm rain. It has forecast that the weather will be generally cloudy and there will be one or two spells of rain or thundershowers. Temperature will be between 20 degree Celsius and 33 degree Celsius.
