A 23-year-old woman hanged herself at her house at HSR Layout at around 6.45 pm on Thursday over dowry harassment. The victim was identified as Krishika.
Krishika was rushed to a nearby hospital but died in the early hours of Friday morning, said the police. Savitha, the victim’s relative called up Krishika’s parents to inform them about the incident.
Krishika had married Nutuan Reddy in 2012 and the couple have two-year-old daughter. “Krishika’s relatives alleged that Nutuan and his family members tortured her physically and mentally, forcing her to commit suicide,” said the police.
Police registered a case against the victim’s husband Nutuan Reddy, his mother Saraswathamma, his sister Savitha and her husband Bhaskar.
