Last Updated 26 June 2016, 21:11 IST
Medical aspirants registered for the second edition of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET- II) will get a chance to make corrections in their application form.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to allow candidates to make correction in their date of birth, gender, category, disability status and medium of question paper that they want to get during the nationwide test to be held on July 24 for admissions to various medical and dental colleges.

The registered candidates can also make correction in the state codes of eligibility that they mentioned in the registration form while applying for the test.

The one-time correction facility will be available to the candidates from 11 am on June 27 to 11.59 pm on June 29.

The candidates can log on to the NEET-II website to make corrections on the six particulars as specified, according to a notification issued by the board on Sunday. Correction in any other data would not be allowed, the Board said.

The CBSE has decided to provide candidates with one time correction facility after it received a large number requests from the examinees.

In its notification, the Board also hinted that certain amount of fee could be levied on the candidates against providing them with one-time correction facility, but did not specify the amount of such fee that could possibly be charged.

“Due to correction in category, if additional fee is payable, the same shall be remitted through debit/credit card or net banking during the given period only,” the board said.

The board requested the candidates to be very careful while making corrections as no second opportunity will be given to them. It also urged the parents to read and understand its notification and help their ward in making correction.

“After correction, candidates may print the correction slip and retain the same for their reference and record. No correspondence thereafter will be entertained by the board in this regard,” it added.
