The convocation of the Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (2014-16 batch of International School of Management Excellence (ISME) was held at Taj Vivanta recently. It was also a milestone for ISME as it was celebrating 10 years of it operation.
Addressing students, Sudhir Sethi, founder chairman and managing director, IDG Ventures India, said the country needs managerial talent that can bring passion, unstructured thinking and risk assumption to the business world.
“Applauds to management institutions like ISME who are purposefully creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the campus and curriculum,” he said. Nitin Garg, director, ISME in his annual report speech highlighted the achievements of the institution and students.
ISME had placed all the graduating students in reputed companies across India. Recently, it had signed a MoU with Canada’s Carleton University for academic and research partnership.
The two-year full time diplomas were awarded to 97 students by K G Garg, chairman, ISME and other board members. The dignitaries also addressed students and advised on various aspects of corporate career. Megha Chandrika, top rank holder of the programme, also placed as Risk Analyst with E&Y, said, “the PGDM course at ISME had been extremely value-adding experience of my life and the transformational approach of ISME has instilled life-skills in me in addition to the domain knowledge.”
The forenoon session witnessed a vibrant panel discussion moderated by Swaroop Reddy, principal, ISME on the issue of ‘Creating an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in B-Schools’.
Resourceful industry experts and successful entrepreneurs, including Prof Kumar K of IIM-B and Ashok Madaravally, director of ‘NASSCOM 10000 Start-ups’, were deliberated on the various challenges and potential approaches of creating entrepreneurial ecosystem in B-Schools and contributing entrepreneurial talents to the economy.
