Aim at eliminating sources of unassessed income

The Centre wants all the sectors to remove the sources of unassessed income, though there are sectors that are not moving in that direction, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, hinting towards the jewellery sector.

“It is important that the sources of unassessed income are minimised and eliminated,” Jaitley said at a function in Bengaluru.

“We already have a large number of sectors of the economy, which are slowly moving in that direction, including the film industry. As the real estate is getting more and more instutionalised and corporatised, a number of developers are also moving in that direction,” he said.
