The final report of the panel probing wrestler Narsingh Yadav's doping controversy will come in the next two days till when he will remain under provisional suspension, the government told Lok Sabha today.

Responding to a number of questions over the issue, Sports Minister Vijay Goel said the government will consider a suggestion made by members for keeping a check on anabolic steriods which are available openly in the market.

He said the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) works under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and its anti-doping panel is at present investigating the case of Yadav.

The final report would be coming in the next two days, the minister said, adding till then Yadav will remain under provisional suspension.

But the opposition members, including those from the Congress, were unhappy with his replies on Yadav and pressed the need for curbing the availability of steroids.

Rejecting a charge that government was not keeping a check on the performance of various sports federations, he said there are 49 such recognised sports federations in the country.

"There have been 14 cases of irregularities relating to code of conduct and elections and their recognition has been witheld," he said.

Responding to a question on creation of sports facilities at the grassroots level, he said yesterday several Rajya Sabha members agreed to the suggestion that if they contribute 50 per cent of the amount from their funds for a sports project, the Sports Ministry will provide a matching sum.

BJP member Sukhbir Singh Jaunpuria, who had asked the question, said if the MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) fund is raised to Rs 25 crore from the present Rs 5 crore, MPs will willingly contribute the share.

Goel also said government wants more funds from the corporate sector for the National Sports Fund so that it an extend sports facilities.
