Brilliant Misam grabs sole lead

Overnight leader Sarda slips to 3rd position; Khurana 2nd

 Misam Rizvi of Karnataka scored a second block of 718 series to finish on top in the overall standings in the qualifying round of Open category of the ARC 2nd Bangalore Open Tenpin Bowling Championship at Blu-O, Orion Mall here on Thursday.

Misam, a student of India International School, scored 266, 224 and 228 to finish with a total pinfall of 1441 in two blocks of three games (723 and 718).

Vikas Khurana of Delhi, who scored 738 (215, 245, 278), finished with a total pinfall of 1429 to occupy the second position, trailing Misam by 12 pins.

Overnight leader Dhruv Sarda of Delhi, with total pinfall of 1420, is in third position while Shabbir Dhankot (TN) is in the fifth position. Five bowlers from Karnataka are currently in top 12 in the overall standings in the Open category.

In the men’s Graded ‘A’ Masters qualifying rounds, Chetan Bansal of Delhi continued to lead the table with 1332 and was followed by Habeebur Rahman of Tamil Nadu (1323).

In the women’s Graded category, Chethana R of Karnataka tops the table with total pinfall of 1185 and is followed by team-mate Judy Alban with an aggregate of 1180.

The Masters Final of Graded ‘A’ of men’s category and women’s category will be held on Friday.

The organisers also said that the second Block of 8 games in the Open Category and Step-ladder Finals will be postponed by a day to Sunday in case of Karnataka bandh.
