The Centre on Thursday assured China that there would not be any problem for those who would replace the three expelled Chinese journalists in India.
“The conduct of the three (existing) journalists was not in conformity of the visa rules. That’s why their visa would not be extended once it expires on July 31. There would be no issue when their replacement comes in due course,” MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup said.
“This matter has been under discussion for some time now. Visa of the Xinhua bureau chief (Wu Qiang) in Delhi had expired on December 31, 2015, while visas of the two Xinhua correspondents in Mumbai (Lu Tang and She Yanggang), had expired in March, 2016,” he said.
