Rotary-SBI golf event on Oct 28

The Rotary Bangalore-State Bank of India Golf tournament will be held at the Karnataka Golf Association on October 28, the Club announced here on Monday.

The event, which is into its third year, will witness 120 golfers vie for top honours.

SBI, who are the title sponsors of the event, have offered Rs 25 lakh for the tournament.

“The proceeds of the tournament will go towards helping the underprivileged children in and around Bengaluru get quality education facilities. Under our ‘Happy School’ project, we aim to promote quality learning, offer playing equipments, build toilets and provide good infrastructure to at least 50,000 children,” said Manjunath Aniekar, Golf Committee Chairman, Rotary Club of Bangalore.

The organisers have fixed Rs 4,000 as the registration fee and they aim to raise a total of Rs 40 lakh from the tournament.

The previous edition of the tournament received 100 entries and the organisers raised Rs 25 lakh.
