Logitech, a NASDAQ listed computer peripheral company, said that the company will register growth by focussing on wireless speakers, tablet accessories, and video collaboration.

In an interaction with DH, Logitech Vice President and Head of ASEAN and India Moninder Jain said, “Three categories — wireless speakers, tablet accessories and video collaboration (conference cam), contribute $450 million and 20% of our revenues at present, but three years ago, the company didn’t find any business opportunity in these verticals,” Jain said.

Logitech, which has been focussing on designing products that bring people together through music, gaming, video and computing, made it clear that the largest revenue earner is no longer mouse and keyboard. “Wireless is the single largest product, while the mouse and keyboard are the biggest categories of the company,” said Jain. When asked about the company’s strategy, he said, “We are coming up with products that consumers want to experience. As the desktop became a form factor and later tablets and mobile, we came up with products supporting it,” he said.

The recent acquisition of Ultimate Ears and Jaybird have helped the company expand its product portfolio. “Our wireless speakers are sold in the brand name of UE and we have various ranges in this category, including Logitech UE BOOM. Jaybird helped us come up with wireless earphone and it will be launched in India in the first quarter of next year,” he said.

He said that the company also forayed into home monitoring business recently. “We have Logi Circle, a home monitoring camera with 24 hours storage and Circle Safe, a subscription-based video storage business. These businesses are yet to be launched in India,” he said, adding the government’s Digital India and smart cities will enhance the company’s business game plan. “We have India-centric pricing mechanism backed by distribution channels that will help us reach out to customers. We are also availing the ecommerce platform,” he said.

The company has 50 distributors in various cities and a reseller base of 16,000, catering to 300 cities. The company has also opened its experience centres in Bengaluru, Pune, New Delhi and Kolkata.
