Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday hit out at BJP president Amit Shah, calling him a ‘black blot’ on Indian politics.

Sisodia was retaliating to Shah’s press conference earlier in the day where he accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for politicising the issue of surgical strikes against Pakistan.

“It is ironical that Amit Shah is handing out certificates of nationalism and honesty. How can a person who has been accused of murder, abetting the suicide of an IAS officer and misusing CBI, take credit of surgical strikes conducted by our brave soldiers?” Sisodia told reporters at Delhi Secretariat.

“This is our Army. It comprises people like us, from villages and small towns,” he added.

“He has no right to question Arvind Kerjiwal’s nationalism. The entire nation knows of the honesty and good governance displayed by Kejriwal. How can the BJP chief teach politics to Kejriwal? Amit Shah is a black blot on Indian politics,” the deputy CM said.

Sisodia further questioned the BJP chief’s alleged role in using the CBI to abet the suicide of IAS officer BK Bansal. He alleged that the BJP chief, through the CBI, was involved in harassing the bureaucrat and his family.

Strongly condemning Sisodia’s statement, Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay took a jibe at the Kejriwal government and said, “The entire nation knows of the honesty of Arvind Kejriwal and his government. In the history of Delhi, this is the first government whose ministers are involved in Hawala trading, cases of rape, extortion and fake degree scams.”

Upadhyay added that both the AAP and Congress would suffer long-term political setbacks for questioning the surgical strikes. “We understand their political frustration but in national interest, we request them to step meddling in defence affairs,” the Delhi BJP chief said in a statement.
