When they want to learn and gain experience, when they are looking for a bridge towards full-time employment and when they just can’t find another job are typically the reasons for today’s youngsters to approach a staffing company. While each is a compelling reason, it is important to choose the right staffing company.

Given that there are numerous staffing companies who promise you the dream job, it’s important to ascertain how genuine these claims are. Hence, it is important to identify the right one that can help you. Here are a few tips to find the right staffing company:

Recognition: First, check if the staffing company is a member of the Indian Staffing Federation. This is a recognised representative body of staffing in India which in turn is accredited to CIETT — the global representative body of staffing. The membership ensures that the organisation adheres to the country’s laws, respects candidate privacy and provides fair treatment.

Financial health: The financial health of the firm dictates the timely accurate payment of wages and social security benefits. Additionally, it should also have great financial stability in order to sustain the business in the long term.

Size, scale & stature: These are critical capabilities for any reliable staffing company. Size and scale are indicators of a successful company. It personifies the company’s capability to align the interests of its stakeholders and deliver value to them consistently. Stature exhibits the company’s capability to attract a number of corporates from diverse sectors.

Employment security: In today’s world, the security that the youth is looking for is access to multiple employment opportunities. An established and good staffing partner will not only unlock many doors based on your skills, education and interests, but it will also guide you to options that can enhance your expertise.

Social security: It is important to know whether the company abides by the law, pays legitimate wages, ensures social security benefits like PF, ESIC, gratuity and additional medical benefits.

Onboarding: Find out if there is a process of formal induction to the job. In addition to helping you find the right job, a staffing company will also help you in salary negotiations, will clear your doubts regarding social security and even undertake formal induction. The company will also help you review the appointment letter to ensure that it provides all statutory and non-statutory entitlements. They will also help you in submitting all the necessary documents to the employer.

Communication charter: Do a thorough check about the different communication channels the firm offers. For instance, ‘does the staffing company have a multilingual help desk facility which can be accessed from any part of the country?’ and ‘does the company proactively communicate to your grievance or response?’ are some questions that you need to have answers for before finalising your staffing partner.

The information required for these pointers can be done quite easily in today’s world. The first thing you have to do is an extensive research, online and offline, about the organisation to gauge its credibility and the clients it caters to. Also ask your friends and family about their experience with the company.

Bear in mind that having a job is always better and hence, the first step is to get into an organised workforce. This is where a staffing company can be of help. So, ensure that you find the right one!
