Vijaya Bank , Indian Bank enter final

Favourites Vijaya Bank and Indian Bank scored contrasting wins to set-up a final against each other in the 3rd Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty All-India basketball tournament here on Saturday.

While Vijaya Bank trounced Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, Chennai 106-75, Indian Bank scored a hard-fought 78-75 win over Customs and Central Excise, Kochi.

Vijaya Bank were sluggish at the beginning. SDA pushed Vijaya Bank hard and ended the opening quarter at 19-19.  Vijaya Bank then decided to go on the offence. With Arvind Arumugam and Anil Kumar producing some fine baskets, they opened up a healthy 48-37 lead. Thereafter, Vijaya Bank were unstoppable.
