TopRankers: Helping students to realise their potential

The competitive examinations market in India is estimated to be worth $ 6 billion, and with every exam going online, it is likely to grow exponentially in future. With so much potential for development in this segment, it is projected that the online competitive examinations market will witness a 50% year-on-year growth for at least the next thee years.

Looking at this huge opportunity, Gaurav Goel, along with Malay Sarkar, Mehbub Hussain started TopRankers- online test preparation portal in 2014. Later Harish Goswami and Himanshu Joshi joined the team of founders. The Bengaluru-based startup enables students to prepare for competitive exams through an innovative platform. It offers simulated tests and comprehensive study materials for candidates appearing for examinations in the fields of banking, law or government sector, acting as their personal tutor.

Sharing details about the firm Gaurav Goel, Co-founder and CEO said, “TopRankers aims to provide the most comprehensive content, tests for practice which are carefully divided in to various chapters and topics, to help the student focus on their weak areas.”

“In the last two years we have raised Rs 4.5 crore funding from Ideation Initiative and Careernet consulting,” said Goel, adding that the company went through rigorous development for almost 18 months prior to the official launch of its BETA version in April, 2016.

Following its successful launch, the promising venture boasts of more than 50,000 registered users, and has featuredbeen in the list of top searches on Google for BPS/SBI PO/Clerical related exams. Apart from Bengaluru, the company has offices in Bhopal and Delhi with a team of 40 professionals working across dedicated centres along with 60 freelancers.

The compnay has bagged some state government projects, where it delivered question papers and content with utmost precision and accuracy. The ‘CC 2.0’ vision of the company provides one stop solutions for coaching institutes and colleges to cater to their academic requirements.

Apart from that the startup also has a SaaS product named ‘TopRankers Edge, a unique software solution for institutions that wish to bring their content and modules online. In the next few months, Top Rankers team plans to engage more than 150 clients on this product.
On future plans, Goel said “TopRankers has more than 25 recognised names as its B2B client from seven Indian cities, and is planning to expand its business in 50 more cities in the near future. On the B2C side, the company is planning to acquire another five lakh students within 12-18 months.”
