Nataka Academy honorary award for Nakod, Hamsalekha

Karnataka Nataka Academy has announced the list of awardees for their contribution in the theatre field, for the years 2015 and 2016.

As many as 15 theatre personalities have been selected for the 2015 annual awards. The award winners will be felicitated with a cheque of Rs 25,000 and a memento. Manobhai Nakod from Davangere will receive the honorary award.

For the year 2016, as many as 25 theatre personalities will receive the annual award. Lyricist and music composer Hamsalekha has bagged the honorary award.

The honorary award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000. The academy has also announced the list of various endowment awards: 

Cultured Comedian K Hirannaiah Endowment Award: Madukesh Chindodi, Davangere (2015); Mahadevappa, Bengaluru (2016).

Chindodi Veerappa Endowment Award: Goodu Saheb Chinhal, Bagalkot (2015); B Gangadhar, Tumakuru (2016).

Chindodi Leela Endowment Award: Mamatha Guduru (2015); and Uma, Ranebennur (2016).
Theatre book prize will be presented to Prakash Garuda (2014) and late Gopal Vajpayee (2015).
The endowment award carries a cash prize of Rs 25,000.
