More than 100 allottees of Arkavathy Layout gathered at Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) head office on Wednesday demanding justice from the authority and also sites.

After an hour-long wait, BDA Commissioner Rajkumar Khatri met the aggrieved allottees and assured them that they would get the sites soon.

Speaking to agitators, Khatri said the list of allottees, who have to get sites in the redo case, would be prepared within a week. The list would be posted on the BDA website and the notice board. Later, the BDA would give allottees 15 days to file their objections. The list of allottees would be prepared based on the law and as and when sites are available, they would be allotted, he added.

He explained to the allottees that it is not just they who are moving court for sites, but also the land losers. He added that the BDA had found 43 acres of land in various parts  of the city. Among them, the BDA has received replies from land losers with respect to 18 acres.

Some have also approached court, he added. The BDA has identified four acres and 30 guntas in Hebbal, seven acres and 32 guntas in Thanisandra, 15 acres and five guntas in K Narayanapura, nine acres and 30 guntas in Dasarahalli and four acres and 36 guntas in Kempapura.

The allottees had gathered at the BDA office following a meeting with the BDA officials last week as part of the public grievance meeting. The officials had assured them to find sites and form a help desk at BDA to resolve problems of Arkavathy allottees.

“We had demanded that the BDA do justice and give us our sites as we have all documents and pay tax. Now, the commissioner has spoken to us and said that the list of allottees will be put on the website. We see some ray of hope,” K G Nayak, a site allottee, said.

There are 3,728 registered allottees with absolute sale deed and 1,200 unregistered allottees with provisional sale deed.  All of them are losing their sites in BDA redo case.

KG Layout list soon

Khatri said the final list of allottees for Kempegowda Layout is likely to be announced in another two to three days. Things are getting finalised. Soon after the list is announced, the process of refunding money to those who have not got sites, will also start soon, he added.
