City youths offer solution to e-waste handling

Last Updated 13 November 2016, 19:50 IST

A group of youths from city has come up with a solution for recyling of e-waste.
Hemant Kumar, B Adarsh, Darshan and Dhananjay, who have graduated from Seshadripuram College, have launched 'Olopie', an e-waste solution company, which offers solutions in recycling e-waste and better handling of toxic scrap.

Hemant Kumar, the man behind Olopie, said, “We have tied up with companies that recycle e-waste. Once e-waste is collected from customers and IT companies, it is segregated at a sorting centre set up at Peenya. Later they are handed over to interested e-recycling companies. We have served around 60 IT companies.”

The company procures defective computers, mobile phones, air-conditioning machines, fridges, washing machines, electronic devices, including batteries among others from customers. It then sells the e-scrap to the interested companies involved in recycling.
Those interested can visit www.olopie.com or call 88841 22253.
