Actor Dhananjaya says that he has never been more content with his work. His latest release, 'Badmaash’ sees the actor carry off ten avatars with ease. The characters have been carefully chosen, to not only weed out monotony but to also showcase different facets in society.

The crux of the story revolves around what would be the result when a group of people come together to do something for the larger good of society. Dhananjaya assures that the movie will surely provoke people to act against what is not fair rather than remaining silent spectators.

In an interview with Nina C George, the actor shares his experience of working in the film.
What got you to work in 'Badmaash’?

I liked the idea of being able to portray so many different characters. It was a mentally-draining process but looking back, I feel I have been able to slip in and out of many contrasting experiences. It’s been a fantastic journey for me. Every character that I’ve donned has challenged the actor in me.

Do you think the liquidity crunch will affect the film?

It may or may not affect the movie. We are running a big risk by releasing the movie at this time but we don’t have a choice because we have been working on the film for a long time and are waiting to see it on the big screen. Everybody needs entertainment and I think those who have been following this film and want to watch it  will surely go to the theatres.

Tell us about your character...

There’s a 'Badmaash’ in all of us. But it’s hard to predict when the 'Badmaash’ in us will rear its ugly head. Whether people turn into a villain for good or for bad is what the story is about. Each of the characters mirrors the happenings in society. You will see how the corrupt operate without being caught and what effect that has on the common man.

Why should one go watch 'Badmaash’?

There’s something for everybody in it. Just like a newspaper has different sections to it like politics, entertainment and sports. ‘Badmaash’ too has something for people to read and remember. It’s a family entertainer. The technicians have worked very hard to render a power-packed product.

Any intense moments during the shooting of the film?

There was an action sequence where I come face-to-face with the villain. The scene was not only an intense one but extremely engaging as well. I convey what I have to say in a subtle way. I enjoy working on characters that are subtle and I make sure that my choice of projects never gets repetitive or monotonous.
