Badmaash
Kannada (U) ¬¬
Cast: Dhananjaya, Sanchitha Shetty, Achyuth Kumar, Ramesh Bhat, Prakash Belawadi, B Suresh
Director: Akash Srivatsa

Cricket, T20 betting, greedy politician, and a familiar love at first sight form the core of Badmaash. Filmed like a television serial, the film by Akash Srivatsa fails to light up your day. Rather, it puts you to sleep.

Dhananjaya hams and has no screen presence, and the director wants the audiences to drool over him for two-and-a-half hours. Sadly, no. Even Sanchitha Shetty seems to be advertising for a mouthwash or toothpaste with a sparkling set of molars.

A conman, Vijay aka Badmaash is a man in need for the distressed. He helps liquor tycoon RK get back his money lost in T20 betting. He also ensures that Home Minister Rajashekar, aspiring for CM gaddi, is exposed through brother Surya, about the cricket betting scandal. A fuming Rajashekar alias King orders his own brother’s death. Meanwhile, as romance blooms between Vijay and RJ Priya, you have a villainous guruji counselling Rajashekar that if he weds Priya, he can covet the CM’s gaddi.

Does Rajashekar settle scores with Vijay? Or is Vijay able to win over Priya (both incidentally are childhood lovemates, that’s another story)?
Stay away.
