Moana
English (U) Cast: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Alan Tudyk, Auli’i Cravalho
Directors: Ron Clements, John Musker

If you fell in love with “The Little Mermaid” and “Aladdin”, you will fall in love again with “Moana” — the adventure of a young girl who sails to a fabled island in the company of Pacific demi-god Maui (Johnson).

Set in a tiny Pacific island some 2000 years ago, Moana (Auli’i Cravalho), the daughter of Chief Tui of Motunui, is in love with the ocean since her childhood. It remains her dream to sail and seek out new land, but her father is against such ideas. However, an opportunity comes for Moana to sail on the high seas when bad boy and demi-god Maui (Johnson) arrives on the shores of Motunui. With fishes disappearing and crops rotting, she must find a way to save her beautiful abode and her people.

“Moana” is more than an animation flick. It is close to being a musical. Sooner or later you will be humming to The Rock’s catchy “You’re Welcome” song. Besides, the Pacific flavour is captured in the most memorable manner and visuals.

Love story-hungry moviegoers may feel let down. Just keep in mind that our young lady Moana is not looking for a prince charming like other princesses. However, you will be treated with such a fresh and empowering storyline revolving around Polynesian culture and music, that you will be the one in love with “Moana”. A perfect movie for the entire family.
