Changing trends in management

International conference

The International School of Management Excellence (ISME) organised its fifth International Conference on ‘Contemporary Issues in Management’ on February 11 at its campus on Sarjapur Road.

In light of  technological changes and the dynamics of the global political economy, the conference highlighted the context of the paradigm shift  in the role of educators in general and the business schools in particular.

The objectives of the conference were to develop awareness and understanding of emerging trends in management theory and practice, to identify the challenges and opportunities in redefining management within the new paradigm and to prepare a blueprint for future course of action after identification of path breaking trends in functional areas of management.

The chief guest Dr Parameshwar Iyer, head and professor, Indian Institute of Science spoke on Intellectual Property Rights and Patents.
 The conference brought together some of the leaders from the industry and the academia to address the contemporary issues in management and prepare a road map for the future.

More than 60 scholarly articles were presented which highlighted some of the current challenges facing management.
