Women artistes from different parts of the world enthralled the audience on the occasion of 'All Women World Arts' festival on Saturday.

Organised by the International Arts and Culture Foundation, the festival aims to empower women, especially those striving to develop and propagate Indian arts and culture from across the world.

The evening programme started with the rendition of Japanese traditional songs, dances and other cultural activities by artistes from Japan. The highlight of the day was a violin performance by Japanese artiste Haruyo Kimura on popular Kannada song 'Huttidare Kannada'. This was followed by a Bharathanatyam performance by classical dancers from South Africa, France and Taiwan.

"The response has been overwhelming. A total of 100 artistes are taking part in the festival which will culminate on Sunday with a Kathakali performance by Kerala artistes. Most of the international artistes are expats," said Srivatsa Shandilya, managing trustee of the foundation.

The five-day festival that started on February 22, was held at various venues of the city like Freedom Park and Dhaatu Center for Sharing at Banashankari II Stage. Entry is free and on Sunday, the festival will be held at Iskcon Temple Multivision Theatre, Chord Road, 6 pm onwards.
