A businessman says two unidentified men stole Rs 1.7 lakh from his car by bluffing him near Wood World store in Kaikondrahalli, southeast Bengaluru, on Sunday evening.

Jagadish, who runs a hardware store in Bommanahalli, was at the wheel when a man came up to him and said he had dropped a 10-rupee note a few feet away. Jagadish got off the car and went to get the note.

As he picked it and began to walk back, another man opened the car and lifted a bag that contained Rs 1.7 lakh in cash. Jagadish realised the theft when he got into the car and found the bag missing. He looked around for the man who had told him about the note but there was no sight of him. Jagadish went to the Bellandur police station and lodged a complaint. Police said they were checking the CCTV footage to trace the suspects.
