Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa has stated that he was not interested in contesting the next Assembly elections.

However, he said that since the election was still a year away, the issue need not be discussed now.
Speaking to reporters at the Hubballi airport on Monday, the minister said that of the 10 lakh bagair hukum cultivators in the state, eight lakh have been issued title deeds.

“Tahsildars and other officials have been instructed to clear all bagair hukum applications in the next five months. This process has been delayed as MLAs are not properly attending bagair hukum committee meetings,” Kagodu said.
