The High Court of Karnataka on Friday issued notice to the state government and to the Muzrai department on a PIL seeking directions to take over the administration of a temple built inside a park as it is being misused by the local leaders in the name of a trust.
The petitioner, S Ravichandra, moved the court contending that a Sai Baba temple was constructed inside a park at Magadi Road near the police quarters. The petitioner contended that a trust has been running a temple, which is an illegal construction, inside a park.
The petitioner sought directions to hand over the administration of the temple to the Muzrai department as the temple is located in a public place.
A division bench comprising Justice H G Ramesh and Justice K S Mudagal issued notice and adjourned the next hearing to June 29.
