Ace shuttler Kidambi Srikanth’s dream season just got better as the Indian made it to his third successive Super Series final beating Yuqi Shi 21-10, 21-14 at the Australian Open here on Saturday.

With this feat, the Andhra Pradesh lad became the first Indian to make it to the third final of a Super Series in a row. He is only the fifth shuttler to do so in the world after Indonesia's Sony Dwi Kuncoro, Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei and the Chinese duo of Chen Long and Lin Dan.

Srikanth, who won the match in just 27 minutes, has previously reached the final of the Singapore Open and Indonesia Open. He was runner-up at Singapore while he won in Indonesia.

His previous best here was a semifinal appearance in 2016.
Srikanth got better of qualifier Kan Chao Yu followed by World No 1 Son Wan Ho and Sai Praneeth, respectively, en route to the final.

He will face Chen Long in the summit clash after the Chinese beat Korea’s Lee Hyun Il in the other semifinal 26-24, 15-21, 21-17.
