'Take precautionary measures to tackle drought-like situation'

MLA C T Ravi said that District In-charge Minister Roshan Baig should ensure that works taken up by the district administration are expedited.

Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he said the people in the district are in distress following drought. A goshala was opened at Panchanahalli in Kadur taluk. However, fodder is not being supplied properly to the cattle, he said.

He said that the district has failed to receive expected rainfall in June and July. The district administration should take precautionary measures to tackle drought-like situation.

The authorities should purchase food and distribute it among the needy, the MLA said. He said that the state government should not delay the process of finding a solution to Datta Peeta row and should not engage in vote bank politics.

Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister and the Congress are engaged in creating communal rift in Dakshina Kannada district. Organisations like PFI and KFD are creating communal disturbances in the region. The issue should be taken seriously and should be probed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

He said that as part of birth centenary celebrations of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, series of programmes will be organised by the BJP.
