Soon, you will not have to go in search of a legal adviser to verify your site, property details or get an affidavit. You can do all this on a smartphone or computer anywhere in India. Help will turn up right on your doorstep to provide you the required services.

Sounds too good to be true? Well, such a project is already in the works. A number of lawyers from across India have joined hands to develop a website (https://legalconclave.com/) that is slated to be launched by Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in New Delhi in a fortnight. Legal Conclave is the brain child of Lokesha S, a lawyer from Bengaluru, and some of his peers.

“The idea behind the project is to provide hassle-free legal services to the general public. Large crowds are commonplace outside courts. Many people spend a lot of time looking for the right legal advisers.

“There are many others who keep wandering in search of notaries and don’t find one in an emergency,” said Lokesha, Managing Director, Legal Conclave. “The website has been designed for those who do not have time to visit a lawyer but need urgent legal advice.”

It took a year-long research to develop the website.

The website is targeting information technology professionals, home-makers and migrant workers. Presently, only some legal services are available on the website. Clients and lawyers usually complain that they do not have time for each other. But through the website, they can fix the time slots and place of interaction.

The website will also facilitate live interaction between lawyers and clients. Among the legal services to be provided by Legal Conclave will be verification of property documents. Saying that the demand for the service was high, Lokesha said the website would list the documents required. Once the client registers, the documents will be picked up and delivered after verification at the location of their choice, he explained.

“In case of paperwork like affidavits, delivery will be guaranteed within 24 hours. But in case of other services, the date of delivery will be notified in advance,” he said. Client details will be kept confidential. A team of cyber security experts will ensure confidentiality, he added.
