Speaking to the media after flagging off the Bangalore-Hazrat Nizammuddin Rajdhani Express from City railway station on Tuesday night, Muniyappa said when this is also in place, it would establish good connectivity to the BIAL airport.
“The newly launched Yeshwantpur-Devanahalli train will be extended upto Chikballapur shortly,” he announced.
Work in connection with a circular train network around the City would commence as soon as the State government hands over to the Railways the Rs 500 crore it has promised for the project, said Union Minister of State for Railways K H Muniyappa.
Muniyappa said Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa had earlier agreed to bear 50 per cent of the cost of the project.
