B'lore North, Central varsities get VCs

Nearly a month after the government issued the order to trifurcate Bangalore University, the first Vice-Chancellors of the newly created Bangalore North University, Kolar, and Bangalore Central University, Central College campus, have been appointed.

Prof S Japhet, who had been the Special Officer for Bangalore Central University during the trifurcation, has been appointed the vice chancellor of the said university. Prof Japhet has been a professor at National Law School of India University (NLSIU) since 1990.

Special Officer for Bangalore North University, Prof T D Kemparaju, has been appointed the vice-chancellor of the university. Prof Kemparaju was a professor in the department of Library and Information Science in the parent Bangalore University. He was also the Registrar of Mangalore University and had served as the Registrar of BU for a short period of time.
