Conditional anticipatory bail granted to five BJP, Sangh Parivar leaders

The IV Additional District and Sessions Court has granted conditional anticipatory bail to five BJP and Sangh Parivar leaders who are facing the charges of conspiracy of stone pelting during the funeral procession of RSS worker Sharath Kumar Madivala on July 8.

BJP state Backward community Morcha secretary Satyajith Surathkal, Bajrang Dal Prantha coordinator Sharan Pumpwell, Bajrang Dal leader Pradeep Pumpwell, BJP Yuva Morcha Dakshina Kannada district president Harish Poonja and Bajrang Dal Dakshina Prantha Goraksha Pramukh Muralikrishna Hasanthadka had filed an anticipatory bail application to the court on July 17. The Bantwal town police had filed an FIR against the five and were probing.

Bond
The IV Additional District and Sessions Court Judge Nerale Bhavani Veerabhadraiah after hearing the case on July 22 had reserved the judgement for Wednesday. All the suspects were asked to provide bond worth Rs 50,000 each, personal surety comprising immovable property owned by parents, brother or wife. All the five were asked to appear before the investigation officer within seven days. They were also mandatorily asked to appear before the investigation officer on every Monday and Saturday.

In addition, the court also asked them to avail bail by appearing before Bantwal JMFC Court within two weeks. Further, the order directed all the five suspects only to appear before the court or police and not to enter Bantwal jurisdiction and not to engage in any criminal activities during the bail period.
