Palak Tiwari, the daughter of popular television actor Shweta Tiwari, is all set to make her Bollywood debut with the upcoming movie ‘Quickie’.

The young actor, who will be seen starring opposite Darsheel Safary of ‘Taare Zameen Par’ fame, says she is excited about the teen comedy.

In a conversation with Surupasree Sarmmah, Palak talks about her passion for acting and her mother‘s endless support.

What is running in your mind, now that you have signed your debut film?
I am actually very excited as I have been looking forward to this for a very long time. I love the story and the cast is great.

Considering that your mother is a known face in the industry, was acting always on the cards for you?
Well, acting was always there at the back of my head. Not because of my mother but because I have been a huge fan of movies and television.

Tell us about your movie ‘Quickie’?
The movie revolves around the lives of teenagers; about a girl and a boy who meet one night and the following events that change their lives.

The concept of the movie is very realistic and true to my generation.

Is there any pressure on you because of your mother’s popularity?
Yes, of course. More than anything else, she is associated with great acting and the love that she has earned over the years is a lot to live up to.

Being a star kid, there is always a comparison. Hopefully, things will turn out good for me.

If not an actor...
I would have been an animal activist.

An actor you would like to work with in future...
Shah Rukh Khan. He is one person who is truly self-made. He is an inspiration.

How was it working with Darsheel Safary?
He is a brilliant actor and a lot more experienced than I am. It is a lot of fun to work with him. With him, it is all about banter.

A turning point in life...
Until I signed ‘Quickie’, I was known as Shweta Tiwari’s daughter, but now I have an individual personality and am recognised based on my work.

Are you taking expert advice from your mother?
When director Pradip Atluri came to discuss the story, it was my mother who loved the script more than me. Be it professional or personal, she has been a crucial part of my life and has guided me all throughout. I seek her advice for every important task.

Five things you can’t live without?
Mobile, perfume, chewing gums, ripped jeans and the internet.

One song you are totally crushing on right now?
My mother introduced me to this one song recently and that‘s on repeat mode right now. It is called ‘Superstar by Jamelia’.
