JD(S) rebel MLAs are likely to meet the Congress high command in New Delhi on Thursday to finalise their plan to join the Congress ahead of the next Assembly election.
Seven MLAs, including B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan, N Chaluvarayaswamy, Iqbal Ansari and H C Balakrishna, are scheduled to meet the Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi. The Congress leaders had promises the rebel JD(S) MLAs that they will be inducted into the party by this year end. These MLAs had helped the Congress win a Rajya Sabha seat in an election held last year through cross-voting.
