The High Court of Karnataka on Friday disposed of a PIL challenging the transfers of police officers on the recommendations of politicians, ministers, MLAs and MPs.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice S K Mukherjee and Justice P S Dinesh Kumar directed the Police Establishment Board that the transfers of police officers be done objectively on the Supreme Court directions.
Petitioner V Shashidhar sought directions to prohibit the state government from exercising its powers in transferring police officers based on recommendations.
