With no end in sight for their sufferings, residents of Koramangala are waiting to confront their corporator.

As rain water mixed with sewage entered the homes for the fourth time in a span of 20 days, residents of Koramangala 4th Block planned to block roads in protest, to draw the attention of civic officials. But residents now claim that area councillor M Chandrappa has threatened to stall the storm water drain work if they go ahead with the protest.

“We were planning to protest against the BBMP but the corporator said he will stop all the work and leave us suffering if we go ahead with the plan,” said a resident, who did not wish to be named.

Another resident said she will take the corporator to task if he arrives at the place. “Even after contacting him hundreds of times, he has not shown up because he knows people will not spare him,” she said.

Meanwhile, Chandrappa denied any such allegation. “I have never said that. Just today I personally visited the place and inspected the drain work. We are desilting the drain to ease water flow,” said Chandrappa.

Meanwhile, the Disaster Management Advisory has issued few guidelines during floods through BBMP as given in the box above
