Bengaluru Development Minister K J George has instructed Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to complete the construction of multi-level car parking facility near Freedom Park by March 2018.

George inspected the multi-level car parking facility on Monday. The Rs 79.81 crore project was stalled for a few months due to accumulation of the dug-up granite stones, making it unable to continue the work. George has ordered the officials to get the granite slabs removed and hand them over to the government.

The minister also ordered payment of honorarium to the geological and mining scientists who are working towards this. After the construction of the parking facility, 580 four-wheelers and 500 two-wheelers can be parked in the cellar. “I have instructed the officials to finish the first phase within December and the next phase by March next year,” said George.

Gandhinagar MLA Dinesh Gundu Rao, Mayor G Padmavathi and BBMP Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad and other senior officials were present during the inspection.
