Dasara Janotsava: traffic diversion in Madikeri

 To check the density of traffic during Dasara Janotsava celebrations, the district administration has introduced traffic diversion in the city, Deputy Commissioner Richard Vincent D’Souza said .

The parking of vehicles on both the sides of the road from G T Circle to KSRTC depot has been banned.

On September 30, the movement of vehicles and parking of vehicles on Kundoorumotte temple to Gandhi Mantapa, M M Circle - G T Circle-Private bus stand, Indira Circle, College Road, SBI Junction, Ganapathi beedi, Mahadevapete, Gadduge has been banned.  All the vehicles from Mangaluru to Mysuru should pass via G T Circle.

All the Dashamantapas should take a turn near petrol bunk at G T Circle. The entry of vehicles inside Madikeri has been prohibited due to the Dasara procession, from 4 pm on September 30.

The residents of Mahadevapete and Ganapathi street should park their vehicles on L G Crescent School premises and Hindustani School premises from September 30 morning to October 1, 6 pm.

Tourists, who come to Madikeri in vehicles on Vijayadashami after 4 pm, should travel via Sampigekatte, Gadduge, Muthappa Temple Road, Convent Junction and FMC College Road.

All vehicles coming from Siddapura, Moornadu and Mangaluru should be parked the vehicles at RMC Yard Maidan. Vehicles coming from Galibeedu, Abbey Falls, Somwarpet and Kaloor should be parked at FMC College and St Joseph Convent grounds.

Entry banned

The entry to Abbey Falls and Golf Maidan has been banned from September 30, 4 pm to October 1, 10 am.

The temporary changes have been introduced in vehicular movement on a few roads on account of Gonikoppa Dasara.

On September 30, all the vehicles from Virajpet should pass through Kaikeri Kalathmad Junction-Athoor Junction-Palibetta.

Vehicles coming from Mysuru to Virajpet should pass through Thithimathi, Palibetta, Ammathi.
