Mayor G Padmavathi, whose tenure will end on Wednesday (Sept 27), said that the city being drafted into Smart Cities project list was the high point of her tenure.

In a press meet held here on Monday, the outgoing Mayor Padmavathi listed out her achievements. She said that regulrisation of the services of pourakarmikas, introduction of biometric system, providing mid-day meals to 32,000 pourakarmikas and opening Indira Canteens took place during her tenure.

Dismissing the charge that she was biased to opposition members, Padmavathi said, “The Palike had sanctioned Rs 65 crore for development works at various wards under Bommanahalli Assembly constituency (represented by Sathish Reddy) and Rs 120 crore for Mahadevapura Assembly constituency (Aravind Limbavali). Similarly, we have sanctioned huge funds for Dr C N Ashwathanarayan’s constituency. We have not discriminated against the BJP corporators. We look at the holistic development of the city.”
