A 25-year-old man was fatally stabbed by an autorickshaw driver after his motorcycle hit the latter’s three-wheeler in East Bengaluru’s KG Halli on Thursday. Police are investigating whether it was a case of road rage or is there any other motive behind the crime.

Syed Yusuf and his brother Syed Hussain were riding home at the time of the incident. Yusuf lost control of the two-wheeler which went on to collide with an autorickshaw. The auto driver, Nadeem, got angry and picked a fight with the brothers. Things got out of hand when Nadeem pulled out a dagger and stabbed them repeatedly. Yusuf died from multiple stab wounds but Hussain escaped with minor injuries.

Members of the public rushed to the crime scene and overpowered Nadeem by pinning him down.

Nadeem got injured in the melee. One of the passersby called the jurisdictional KG Halli police. Policemen shifted Yusuf’s body for post-mortem and moved both Nadeem and Hussain to Nimhans. They will arrest Nadeem on the charge of murder once he recovers. Yusuf was also an autorickshaw driver.
