Supervisor of pvt hospital held for raping colleague

A 22-year-old woman was raped by her 46-year-old supervisor at a private cancer hospital at Sampangirama Nagar in Central Bengaluru.

The suspect, Ramanjaneya, a resident of Doddaballapur, works as a supervisor at the housekeeping department of the hospital.

The police produced the suspect before a magistrate, who remanded him to judicial custody. The victim was also subjected to medical examination, the police said.

In a police complaint lodged by the victim’s husband on October 16, the complainant alleged that the supervisor raped the worker at a hospital toilet at 2 pm on October 14. The victim, who had joined the hospital a month ago, was cleaning when the heinous crime was committed.

Preliminary investigations by police revealed that it was the second marriage for both victim and her husband. Husband suspected the victim’s relation with the suspect.  The suspect Ramanjaneya, in his statemen, questioned how he could commit rape at 2 pm without the victim raising an alarm or screaming for help. The police are investigating.
