IPS officer's drivers rob artist for peeing on wall

Last Updated 23 November 2017, 20:42 IST

Two chauffeurs of an IPS officer have been suspended for snatching Rs 9,000 in cash from an artist as "punishment" for urinating on the compound wall of Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna (Bengaluru City) railway station.

Papanna and Vinay Kumar were working for ADGP (Railways), Amar Kumar Pandey.

The Kerala-based artists were in the city to attend a function organised by Shanthinagar MLA, N A Haris, on November 12. The incident happened when they were going back by train. A member of the group urinated on the wall. Papanna and Kumar got hold of him and asked him to pay the fine. The artist apologised and requested to be let off, but the men didn't relent. They snatched his bag and took away Rs 9,000 he had received as an honorarium.

The group later complained to the Cottonpet police station, besides filing an FIR with the railway police.
