A 36-year-old youth shot himself dead at Ontiyangadi - Kannangala near here on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Deepak Kumar, a resident of Kannangala.
According to police, Kumar shot himself in the jaw with a gun. His parents, wife and two children had been to Shasti celebrations at the time of the incident. When his kin reached home, Kumar was still alive and though he was rushed to a hospital in Mysuru, he breathed his last en route.
