Speak Out is much appreciated for its wit and tongue-in-cheek counterpoints. In this four-part recap, we bring to you some editors picks of our Speak Out section. We hope this will delight you as much as it delighted us to put it together. The order is purely chronological from January until now.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is well-known for his Art of Living Foundation, which focuses heavily on yoga, meditation and spirituality. In fact, their own website says this: "The Art of Living Foundation is an international NGO, focused on various dimensions such as social transformation, child education, women and youth empowerment and world peace through yoga meditation, Sudarshan Kriya and other spiritual philosophies."

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's comments stemmed from his ideas that farmers committing suicide was a spiritual problem, more than a financial one. What brought that idea about, is anyone's guess.

Rajinikanth commands a massive fan following across India. Having worked in several films in multiple languages, it would be a rare thing to come across a person who hasn't heard of him. And this is why, when Rajini hinted on a political career, saying that the system was 'rotten' despite the presence of some good administrators, he chose to use this statement to drive the point home.

You probably remember the time when an Indian army car decided to hoist a man as a human shield in Jammu and Kashmir to evade stone pelters? While human rights groups slammed the move, General Bipin Rawat had nothing but praise for the soldiers who engaged in the move.

Rahul Gandhi became quite the talk of the crowd (not that he wasn't already one) when he decided that he would begin reading Hindu holy texts in an effort to effectively combat the BJP and RSS at their own game.

It's an open secret that Baba Ramdev, the popular yoga guru, supports the BJP, and the BJP supports him. So, it was probably not a surprise when Ramdev credited Amit Shah's loss of body weight and gain of political weight to yoga.
