City lakes inspected

The standing committee of Horticulture on lakes inspected the city lakes on Thursday.

The committee chairman Umme Salma inspected the Devarabeesanahalli Lake, Higgaluru Lake, Garudacharpalya Lake and Mahadevapura Lakes along with the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officers.

Salma has ordered to de-silt and restore the Devarabeesanahalli lake at a cost of Rs 3 crore and also to include a walking stretch for people around the Mahadevapura lake.

BBMP schools inspected

The chairman of the standing committee for education also inspected BBMP schools in Jogupalya and found that some teachers were missing on Thursday. Deduction of a day's salary of those missing was ordered.
